Sephora North America names Artemis Patrick as president

Sephora North America has named Artemis Patrick president, succeeding Jean-André Rougeot, who is set to retire next April.

Patrick, who is currently Sephora’s global chief merchandising officer, will enter this role on Oct. 2 and become the first woman to head the beauty giant, according to industry sources. She will report to Guillaume Motte, president and CEO of Sephora’s global business.

As part of the succession plan, Priya Venkatesh, currently senior vice president of global merchandising, has been named global chief merchant role, effective Oct. 2. Likewise, Alexis Rollier, currently global chief operations officer, will oversee the Latin America region in addition to his current duties, as of Jan. 1.

Patrick has been part of the Sephora team for close to 20 years. She started in 2006 as director of e-commerce merchandising and climbed the ladder to the role of VP, e-commerce merchandising until 2012, followed by the role of VP and SVP GM Sephora inside J.C. Penney until 2015. 

Most recently, she was global chief merchandising officer, since August 2020. Prior to that she was chief merchandising officer since Oct 2017.
