Ladurée looks to Vera Wang for new pastry collection

French patisserie Ladurée has teamed up with American fashion designer Vera Wang to launch a new collection of dramatic black and white-themed desserts inspired by Wang's iconic bridal designs.

Like the wedding dress designs Wang is best known for, the macarons and wedding cake are elegant in their simplicity, both in look and flavor: Macarons are coconut Chantilly crème, and a wedding cake made to resemble the undulating fabric of a wedding dress is made with all-white mango and coconut.
Unlike their traditional color palette of pretty pastels, storefront window displays of Ladurée's New York pastry shops will be dressed in a dramatic monochromatic, black and white palette for the wedding feels until January 26.
Ladurée teams up regularly with high-end fashion designers to launch limited edition dessert collections.
The pastry house has also collaborated with Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Matthew Williamson and Tsumori Chisato.
A box of six macarons retail for US $24, while individual mini-cakes retail for $20.
The Vera Wang X Ladurée collection is only available in New York City for a limited time.
