Fresh from staging a sneaker exhibition at Harrods in Knightsbridge, fashion streetwear marketplace The Edit LDN is back in the spotlight, partnering on the 2023 Sneakerness Festival in East London along with other major brands participating.
Taking place at The Truman Brewery from 30 September to 1 October, the family-focused event will feature a host of activities including a hands-on gaming area that will hold gameplay sessions for the newly released NBA 2K24 game.
Specifically, NBA 2K24 and The Edit LDN will challenge visitors in an interactive Gaming Space, featuring crossplay Mamba Moments game mode and new technology ProPlay. In addition to the bespoke gaming space The Edit LDN is running a two-day mixed gender 2-v-2 basketball tournament hosted by sports presenter and basketball enthusiast Mo Mooncey. Further entertainment will include cheerleaders, expert slam dunkers, giveaways and talks with influencers such as antskicks, yungsbk and im.5ft.
Elsewhere, Christian Louboutin will host a pop-up store alongside a complete takeover of a basketball court, defended by the legendary Jamell Anderson, silver medallist of the Commonwealth Basketball team.
eBay will also host a ‘Sneaker Sense Lab’ combining its Authenticity Guarantee programme and will present a fashion & trends stage “to discover what’s hot in the sneaker and fashion world “, hosted by eBay’s ‘Resident Sneakerhead FD From The Future’.
Eastpak is also staging a sneaker customisation workshop with @chickmakescustomskicks showing visitors how to customise their sneakers and accessories.
Visitors can explore “a rich programme of sneaker culture” with panel talks, DJ sets from Hip Hop and Drill artists, treasure hunts, basketball tournaments and challenges with a chance to win a £5,000 cash prize, and Panna Football competitions and meet the community.
“From committed sneakerheads on the hunt for rare pairs of Jordans to basketball lovers hoping to get their hands on the new NBA 2K24 game, the weekend is set to attract over 15,000 visitors”, the event organisers said.
