The DFS Group, a world leader in travel retail, has opened its first mega duty-free store in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The group was founded in Hong Kong in 1960 and today distributes over 700 of the world's most coveted names through 420 stores on three continents. French luxury goods group LVMH is DFS's majority shareholder, alongside co-founder and partner Robert Miller.
Over 300 guests attended the new store's opening, including Philippe Schaus, the DFS Group's President and CEO, Robert Miller and Aun Pornmoniroth, Cambodia's Economy and Finance Minister. The store, called T Galleria Angkor, is located in Siem Reap, a well-known tourist resort and provincial capital, close to the Angkor Wat historical site. Showcasing 170 brands over an 8,000 m² area, the T Galleria is Cambodia's largest duty-free and luxury department store. In 2016, DFS is also set to open a travel retail store in Venice, Italy.
